Royal Canadian Air Cadets
Youth in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets Program participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities. There is something for everyone – no matter what their personal interests may be. The outdoor enthusiast will appreciate learning survival skills for flight crew. The athlete will appreciate physical education and recreation, including a variety of sporting activities like biathlon and Olympic-style marksmanship. The artists will find their niche in the music program.
The curious will appreciate the hands-on activities such as building model aircraft. The scholarly will appreciate an introduction to the various tools and technologies linked to aviation. The dreamers will appreciate the evolution of technology and the advancements of the aerospace era, including the importance of Canadian participation.
Select top senior cadets may even earn the chance to represent Canada on the world stage by participating in an international exchange.
Most importantly, Air Cadets aids in developing knowledge of Canadian history and democracy. The cadet program focuses on social development, decision-making and leadership. As cadets acquire skills and knowledge, they pass it along to younger cadets.
Every cadet will have the chance to participate in flying activities, and some top senior cadets may even earn a scholarship to obtain their private pilot’s licence. Whether earning a glider pilot licence or private pilot licence, these cadets wear their wings with a pride rarely found in today’s youth.
The Cadet Program also has a direct impact on Canadian society as a whole. Cadets have the opportunity to take part in various leadership roles throughout the program. There is definite value in having well-rounded, community-minded, experienced young people who are ready to assume their places as tomorrow’s leaders and decision makers.
Truly unique to the Cadet Program is that it offers experiences you cannot get anywhere else! The Cadet Program stimulates an interest in the Sea, Army, and Air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). To this end, we offer dynamic training in a supportive and efficient environment where change is a positive and essential element.
The mission of the Cadet Program is to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic, community-based program.
The vision of the Cadet Program is a relevant, credible and proactive youth development organization, offering the program of choice for Canada’s youth, preparing them to become the leaders of tomorrow through a set of fun, challenging, well-organized and safe activities.

Squadron History
759 Knights of Columbus Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron (RCACS) first received its charter in December 1965 after declaring independence from 637 North Burnaby RCACS. Since then, the squadron changed its name to Eagles and later, Falcon.
For the past decade, 759 Falcon has been involved with the North Burnaby community. 759 works with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #148 for poppy tagging, volunteering at Burnaby community events, aiding in park clean-ups, and participating in the annual Burnaby Heights Hats Off Day.
Four years ago, the squadron moved from our former parade site at Burnaby Heights Community Centre to Burnaby North Secondary School. Many of our activities continue to run out of the Civil Defense Hut Building in Confederation Park through the generosity of Burnaby’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The Air Cadet Program is only possible through the national partnership between the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL). The ACL provides funds for activities and aviation opportunities, essential elements to an exciting cadet experience. It is at the local level that Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC) Officers and Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) collaborate to make this dynamic youth program a reality.
